How PupTriage content gets made — our standards, in plain English.
Research first
Every article starts with live research: veterinary literature, university extension publications, poison-control data, and competing pages. We never write from memory alone, and we never invent statistics, quotes, or experiences.
What we never do
- No fabricated credentials — we never imply veterinary or medical qualifications we do not hold.
- No fake reviews, testimonials, or user counts.
- No invented DOIs, studies, or expert quotes. Every claim links to its real source.
- No fear-mongering headlines. Risk is stated plainly, with numbers where they exist.
Tools
Calculators and quizzes must show their method: the formula used, its source, and its limits. Toxicity-related tools additionally require documented review by a qualified veterinary professional before public release — no exceptions.
Corrections
Verified errors are fixed promptly and noted with a dated correction line on the page. Serious safety-related errors are corrected within 24 hours of verification.
