Not veterinary advice
Everything on PupTriage — articles, tools, calculators, quizzes — is for general educational purposes only. It is not veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your veterinarian with any questions about your dog’s health.
Emergencies
If your dog may have eaten something toxic, is having trouble breathing, seizing, bleeding heavily, or in severe pain: call your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital immediately. In the US you can also call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (a consultation fee may apply).
Tools are estimates
Our calculators produce estimates from published formulas and reference data. Individual dogs vary. A “low risk” result does not guarantee safety, and a “high risk” result does not replace professional triage.
